happenings in May...

How can it already be nearing the end of May?! This month has flown by which kind of makes me sad, it's always one of my favorites! This May has been filled with getting ready for Vintage Market Days, celebrating our amazing mom on Mother's Day, cutting beautiful blooms from the garden, baby showers, getting through tornado season, a visit from Ali & Carolie from St. Louis to be with us for VMD, completion of the beautiful pool at mom and dad's house, and of course wrapping up a school year today! Here are some pictures to share with you from our month of May...

and i'll finish with my favorite bloom of all time...

On the Move

Last week I was in St. Louis visiting family and among other things I got to attend a luncheon hosted by the Multiple Sclerosis Society, "Women on the Move". My sister, Allison, was invited to promote her book, The Porcelain Angel, and wanted my sister and I to join her.

The keynote speaker for the event was David Osmond, one of the Osmond sons. He and his father (the oldest Osmond) both have MS, or as they explain ~ "we may have MS but MS does not have us". He entertained and then told his inspiring story. Making the point that one person CAN make a difference he reminded us what the Wicked Witch says to Dorothy as she's melting..."Who would have thought a good little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness!?" The power of one! I don't have any good photos to share from our luncheon, at the Ritz no less.

The rest of the week was spent eating out, an Italian dinner hosted by Allison where she served one of the wines we fell in love with in Italy a year ago, long morning walks admiring tulips, lilacs and azaleas, working in Carolyn's garden, a trip to Thies Farm to find flowers for that garden and playing with the kids.

A great way to kick off the beautiful month of May!
