World's Largest Flea Market

We traveled to Canton, Texas early this month for the Canton Trade Days that are held every month as they have since the 1850s! We were rookies and were amazed by the acreage that is covered by vendors of all types. It was a very warm April Fool's Day and there were swarms of people surveying the wares for sale. We saw everything from new shoes and chocolate pastas to very old beds and mannequins. It was a fun atmosphere and so much to see our eyes were weary by the end of the day. We picked up some fun purchases and ate yummy fried fair food like fried green tomatoes and pickles. Our truck was loaded down and had an aqua mannequin we named Norma that joined us for the ride home. Made a stop overnight in Dallas and had to make a Sprinkles run to get us through the evening. We managed to meet a good friend from home for breakfast and meet her new baby Grace. It was a fun trip and we agreed to return to Canton one day!

MS Walk 2011

Last Saturday we walked in memory of our mother, grandmother and mother-in-law who passed away from multiple sclerosis 11 1/2 years ago. My sisters and I have walked in MS Challenge Walks in the past that are 50 miles spread out over 3 days. Those were very memorable days for us. This year my sisters came to visit and were able to walk with our family, they brought my niece and nephew so there were some first time walkers in our group! Some photos from the day~

breakfast is ready!

there was a good crowd ready to walk for MS

Happy Birthday Emily Jane!

Happy Birthday to Emily Jane, the Jane of ElizaJane.
Why do we love Emily?
Could it be her smile, her thoughtfulness, her sensitivity, her eagerness to pursue her dreams,
her passion for whatever she loves and whoever she loves, her love of family, or her silly side?
It's all of these rolled up into one beautiful young woman.
Happy Quarter of a Century Em!

Farmer's Market Time!

It's that time of year~locals gather to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs, plants, spices, baked goods,
you name it, at their neighborhood market. It's a favorite thing to do early on a Saturday morning for us.
We roll out of bed, grab our bags and head to Cherry Street Farmer's Market to see what's freshly picked and for sale this week. Peaches, tomatoes, beets, corn, garlic, peppers, it's all there waiting.
We always make a necessary stop for a freshly baked croissant before we leave!
